Tokyo Keiki Inc. contributes for a creation of social environments of safety and comfortable living for people, by providing high quality of products and services with developing a product of human senses of operations such as measuring, recognition, and controlling by advanced technologies of electronics. We visited Sano Plant and interviewed with Motoki Mitobe, Plant Manager, Director, and Operation Officer, and Michio Saruhashi, General Manager of Plant Control Department.

In 1896, we had started the manufacturing of pressure gauge in Koishikawa, Tokyo as the first instrument's plant in Japan "Wada Keiki Seisakusho". At that time, there was no Japanese word for "instrument" in English, the founder, Yoshie Wada, created Japanese word of "Keiki" for "instrument", it had been a proper noun indicating our company for many years, today it has became a general noun popularly used.
In Tokyo Keiki Inc. (here in after Tokyo Keiki), there are 3 business units.
・No.1 Control Business Unit
・No.2 Control Business Unit
・Electronics Business Unit
Tokyo Keiki, Sano Plant is responsible for research and development and manufacturing of hydraulics and pneumatics (hydraulic pumps, hydraulic valves, and hydraulic motors) in the No.2 Control Business Unit.
【Overview of Sano Plant】
When our plant, in Kamata, Tokyo, planned an expansion because of more spaces required, in considering that an interchange on the Tohoku Expressway was to be opened, we established Tokyo Vickers, 100% subsidiary of Tokyo Keiki in here in 1968. Later in 1984, it merged with Tokyo Keiki and became Tokyo Keiki Inc. - Sano Plant.
There are 4 our plants in Tochigi, they has been developed in an order of Sano, Yaita, Nasu and Tanuma.
The Tohoku Expressway and the completion of the Kitakanto Expressway made this plant as a core plant in our company. Good location environment with quick accessibility to our customers is highly attractive.
A mild climate and few disasters, this location is wonderful in that meaning.
In recent years, There are many customers who manufacture in the new industrialized countries in overseas. And our market is also expanding in China and other such countries. Amid of such movements, our high durability and high performance products have been well accepted in overseas. Our products are manufactured in high quality, high durability and high precision. We are manufacturing the core of main components which highly accepted both in domestic and overseas, as products made in Tochigi.
Our company believes that "Monozukuri" means "Hitozukuri" for many years. A good in quality because of Japanese made is not always right, "Monozukuri" is a reflection of the quality of workers.
Our employees are excellent, so excellent products are manufactured. Many local employed people are working in this company, and playing an active part. The person employed as a worker at the year of the plant development had already retired in 2010. "Made in Tochigi products" made by Tochigi people in Tochigi plant are widely used in overseas too.
Our plant has a membership for the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and for Sano Industrial Park Management Associations, and actively working on activities for the local community.
The Sano Industrial Park Management Association cosponsors Mikamoyama Daimonjiyaki in summer, and performing a periodic cleaning of the industrial park.
Plant tours and work place experiences are actively promoted mainly for local high school students. Also, our plant improvement activities are introduced in seminars.
Our company baseball team is participating in the baseball competition in Sano City to establish friendships with the community people through playing sports. Not only as a whole company, but also each employee is participating in community's activities, social contribution activities, sports, and other various events.
We believe our participations for such activities are counted as our contributions for the community.
