Bosh Group, headquartered in Germany, is developing 3 major businesses in "Automotive Technology","Industrial Technology", and "Consumer Goods and Building Technology".

This plant belongs to the "Automotive Technology" business, and defined as an exclusive manufacturing plant of automotive brake related ABS (Anti-lock brake system) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control). ABS seems very popular already, and ESS is a system to control the posture of vehicle even when braking is not applied.

In the automotive safety technology, there are two ways of safety, passive safety and active safety. The passive safety includes the way to minimize damages when an accident happened such as air bags and seat belts, and the active safety includes ABS or ESC manufactured in this plant. Active safety is the way to prevent an occurrence of accidents before it happens.
This plant is only one exclusive manufacturing plant for ABS and ESC in the group in Japan, and playing an important roll.

Tochigi Prefecture and its Business Environment

This plant was developed in 1990. Until then, our plant had been located in Kanagawa Prefecture but the space was not enough to continue our production there. New locations were studied in various factors including land acquisition cost, and this location was selected because our major customers were clustered in around Tochigi Prefecture.

Through our production in here, we feel that there are a lot of nature and land cost is relatively lower. This is an easy-to-work environment and an easy-to-live living environment.　 　
For logistics and public transportations aspect, the expressway is passing just along the plant and Tohoku Shinkansen is also accessible conveniently. Within Tochigi Prefecture, this might be a very good location.

Bosch Group has more than 250 operations in worldwide, our products manufactured in this plant are highly evaluated globally in its quality and production efficiency
It is not special to produce products in a high quality, in considering the large definition of "Monozukuri", we are striving to manufacturing activities with keeping aware of that how added values can be obtained while maintaining the high quality, and further how the production efficiency could be increased.

The leading factory of Bosch group is in Germany, but German engineers sometimes visit us to learn our superior production technology and efficiency, we are exporting our technology and know-how of "Monozukuri" to overseas in another meaning. Many visitors from our overseas operations prefer to visit our plant. Tochigi plant is getting the worldwide attentions for its excellent technology and high efficiency in production as only one ABS and ESC exclusive factory in Japan.

Contributing Local Community

【 Internship Student 】

We cosponsor the"Half- Marathon competition" held in Nasushiobara City.
In addition, we accept internships of neighboring high school students continuously for their work experiences.

It had been stopped already, but when ABS was not so popular yet, a trial experience course was arranged to test drive in the plant to compare braking performance with and without ABS. Almost 2,000 of people had experienced the test drives totally.
We are looking forward to contribute further for the local community as much as possible, through our participation or cosponsorship for the local events.

As an exclusive plant for ABS and ESC which deeply related to the safety of automotive, never-the-less fatal traffic accidents is our concerns. We are maintaining awareness for traffic safety and putting our efforts on awareness building activities by asking Nashushiobara Police Station to visit and give us lectures for traffic safety. It would be appreciated if we could make Tochigi as a prefecture of safe and less- traffic accidents by increasing people's awareness for traffic safety, and by driving a car equipped with ABS and ESC.

To make every visitors from other prefectures feels "Tochigi is safe to drive ", we would like to maintain our high quality of corporate activities for securing safety with cooperating with the people in Tochigi.
