In focusing on communications with consumers, DNP Co., Ltd. provides high quality products which brings utmost effects onto corporate management and marketing strategies. In this issue, we visited DNP Graphica Co., Ltd. in Utsunomiya Nishi Chukaku Industrial Park, a group company of DNP Co., Ltd., and interviewed with Katsuhiko Suzuki, Manager of General Administration Section in Utsunomiya plant.
This plant produces mainly commercial printed materials.
Specific main products are corporate brochures or pamphlets, and folding flyers for newspapers widely available for many people.
This plant can handle a comprehensive process from printing through bookbinding consistently.
We have production facilities in the Kansai region and Tokyo metropolitan area too. This plant had been developed in 1998
as a multifunctional plant able to do both publishing and commercial printings integrally.
Main reasons for the selection in Tochigi include an availability of vast land space, within 100 km distance from the Tokyo metropolitan area even in Kitakanto region, and an easy access for the expressway in logistics aspect.
In addition, in related with the risk management point of view, a few natural disasters such as large earthquakes was a reason for our selection.
Sine the establishment of the plant, throughout our production activities in Nishikata in Tochigi, the location environment is excellent as we had predicted.
In human resource aspect, because of the nature of the people in Tochigi, many highly faithful and hard working people are available, we felt that this location selection was very good from the stand point of "Monozukuri" also.
This plant is an integrated production plant handling from printing through bookbinding consistently.
A large diameter of rolled papers like as toilet papers are delivered from the paper companies, and processed from printings through bookbinding, then products are shipped from the plant. This completed processing is a feature of our plant.
This process may be seen as a very normal process for people, but because of limited space for site or equipment available in the plant located inside city, some plants have to separate the printing and bookbinding processes into different locations. In that meaning, integrated production plant is a good sales point. Also most of our employees are living in Tochigi, and our products are produced by the people of Tochigi and shipped to market places, we can say that products manufactured in this plant are "Made in Tochigi".
Our cleaning activities in the industrial park are held regularly.
Plant tours for local elementary schools are accepted upon receipt of requests, and we would like to continue the activities in broad ranges.
Our employees also participate in local fire teams for local community contributions, other activities such as PET bottle cap recycling projects are preformed.
In addition, it is very common as contributions for environment, a reduction of the industry waste (zero-emission) and saving of energies in the plant are pursued.
Our products are not only for specific persons, they are handy products accepted widely by the general public.
Since most of our employees are living in Tochigi, we commit to supplying high quality of products and to striving to the manufacturing activities sincerely from here in Tochigi Prefecture.
