As a comprehensive manufacture of construction materials, Bunka Shutter Co., Ltd. provides housing and building construction materials useful in various scenes of everybody's living.
Since founded, Bunka Shutter Co., Ltd. has been striving to a supply of customer-first oriented products and services, and making utmost efforts everyday to develop new products meeting with the diversifying life styles in recent years, such as increased security performances, reduction of environment impacts, and consideration of universal designs as a whole group companies.
We visited Oyama plant and interviewed with Toshikazu Yamano, General manager, and Takahiro Sedei Manager of Operation Section.

Bunka Shutter Co., Ltd. (here in after Bunka Shutter) manufactures and markets various building construction materials and home building materials.
In order to meet various customer's needs and to deliver a safe and quality of products to every construction site in everywhere in Japan, Bunka Shutter operates 7 production plants in all over Japan.
Within those plants, Oyama plant is the No.1 plant in Japan in both the number of product items produced and the volume of production, and playing a center roll of plants in Bunka Shutter.
In Oyama plant, following products are manufactured.
・Heavy weight shutter
Crime or disaster prevention heavy shutter, sheet shutter
・Over sliding shutter
Overhead storage type shutter doors for home garageｓ, warehouseｓ, airport hangerｓ, and fire departments, etc.
・Light weight shutter
Light weight shutter for shops and garages.
・Home building material
Partitions and toilet booth for schools or hospitals.
Since founded our company has been grown. And when we were looking for a site for another main factory, there was an invitation from Oyama City, and selected here by a comprehensive decision. Around in 1966, demand of our products in the Tokyo metropolitan was surged, and the production capacity of our Kanto plant in Tokyo could not fulfill the demand, then in 1968 Oyama plant was completed and started it's operation.
Since Oyama plant is closely located to Tokyo, there is a merit of easier communication with headquarters. Logistically Oyama plant covers from the Tokyo metropolitan area to the Kitakanto and Niigata regions. And, by the Tohoku Expressway, this location has a good access to the Tohoku region too.

Oyama plant has a roll of the main plant in Bunka Shutter, almost all products produced in the company can be produced in Oyama plant.
Also, since our headquarters in Tokyo is closely located, a production confirmation of new product start-up is made in Oyama plant firstly to find out any difficulties on its manufacturing so on. Oyama plant plays a roll of assisting our product development also.

Bunka Shutter Group is supporting voluntary and philanthropy activities with communicating with local community, to contribute for development of the local community and society as a good corporate citizen.
Also we would like to contribute for creating a wealthy society by supporting cultural, artistic and sporting events.
In participating collection & donation activities of PET bottles, used stamps, and pull top of empty cans, each employee is working on social activities what individually can do by themselves.
Two times in every year, in February and August, our employees are donating blood for many years.
We are doing cleaning activities for the local community. Mainly cleaning of surrounding of our plant is made every month.
Once a year, we participate on Omoigawa cleaning activity at the area of Kankobashi bridge in west of Oyama station. On the 3rd Omoigawa river cleaning held on October 24 in 2010, as "Omoigawa - Cleaning- Sports event", totally 79 of our employees and their family made cleaning with a total of 400 participants from companies and voluntary organizations in Oyama. We had been given an appreciation for participating since the first event by the mayor of Oyama city saying "we are expecting Bunka Shutter to be a motive power of cleaning activity as one of partners of the event, here in after too".
The Toyohogawa river is flouring north side of our plant, and there is one kilometer long of Sakura trees along the river, it becomes one of the place of "Oyama Sakura Festival" as a popular place for cherry blossom in Spring. To support the event, we arrange lights in about 250 meters of Sakura trees near our plant. Please come and visit the event to enjoy fantasy of Sakura projected on the river surface. Oyama plan was developed in 1968. Since then plant has been grown by the development of Japanese economy with experiencing an unprecedented recession and others to reach to today.
Its history made from the repeated self-renovations and internal reforms of the production work place.
